TL;DR

Scout is a futuristic dildo by Weredog that focuses more on its mechanical design and the quality of its sensations than on extreme dimensions. Tested here in XXL size, it is noticeably more modest than some of the brand’s other large models while still offering enough length and volume to deliver a satisfying experience.

Visually, it is probably one of the most detailed toys in Weredog’s catalog. Its shaft is covered with mechanical panels, the base is packed with industrial details, and the Forged colorway, inspired by red-hot metal, gives Scout an instantly recognizable and highly distinctive look.

During use, Scout stands out thanks to its progressive insertion, approachable rounded head, and natural curve that applies pressure where it matters most. The mechanical ridges along the shaft create consistent stimulation without ever becoming overly aggressive, especially during slow, controlled movements.

Its biggest drawback is its ergonomics. While the base looks fantastic, it is also quite bulky, making certain handling situations less practical. As with Gideon, the toy also struggles to stand upright on its own due to its weight distribution and the flexibility of the silicone.

Cleaning also requires a bit more attention than average. The many sculpted mechanical details around the base create several areas where water and residue can easily become trapped after washing.

Scout may not be Weredog’s most intimidating model in terms of sheer size, but it more than makes up for it with excellent design and enjoyable sensations. An excellent choice for fans of science-fiction aesthetics, mechanical detailing, and relatively approachable XXL toys.

Where to Buy Scout

Presentation & Packaging

After reviewing Duster, the first toy included in this package from Weredog, it’s time to take a closer look at the second model: Scout. Since both toys were ordered and shipped together, much of the purchasing experience remains identical to what I described in my previous review.

Part of the Same Order as Duster

As I already explained in my Duster review, this order was placed during an especially busy period for Weredog.

At the time, the company was dealing with very high demand for its Knorse model, whose launch appeared to occupy a large portion of its production capacity. Roman warned me from the start that manufacturing would likely take longer than usual.

In practice, it took around two to three weeks before production actually began, followed by roughly another two weeks to manufacture both toys.

Considering Weredog is a small artisan workshop, the wait was perfectly reasonable, especially since everything had been explained clearly from the beginning. Throughout the process, communication remained transparent, and the timelines matched what had been announced.

Once the package was shipped, delivery to France was quick, with the parcel arriving in less than a week.

The Same Well-Crafted Packaging

Since Scout arrived in the same package as Duster, it naturally came with the same level of care in terms of presentation.

Both toys were packaged inside Weredog’s branded resealable plastic bag, accompanied by an information leaflet covering silicone care, compatible lubricants, and cleaning recommendations. The package also included the familiar cotton storage bag along with several Weredog stickers.

Everything remains simple yet exceptionally well presented. Nothing feels excessive or unnecessarily elaborate, but the entire package conveys a sense of care and attention. It’s something I already appreciated during my previous Weredog review, and Scout confirms that first impression once again.

Despite the particularly busy production period, Weredog maintained the same level of professionalism throughout the logistics and shipping process, which is especially reassuring when ordering products that are made to order.

Sizes, Firmness Options & Available Variants

Available in multiple sizes, three silicone firmness levels, and several exclusive colorways, Scout follows a formula that has become a hallmark of Weredog’s catalog. These options make it easy to tailor the toy to your experience level while preserving its distinctive visual identity.

A Well-Balanced Size Progression

Scout is available in five sizes: Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, and XXL. Regardless of the size you choose, the overall design remains consistent, with each step up providing noticeably greater volume and more intense sensations.

While the smaller versions appear relatively approachable, the dimensions increase quickly as you move up the range. The shaft diameter, head width, and overall bulk all become significantly more imposing.

  • Small – A relatively approachable version that lets you experience the design without immediately jumping into extreme dimensions.
  • Medium – A balanced size that already offers greater presence and a fuller feeling.
  • Large – The dimensions become considerably more serious, making this version better suited to experienced users.
  • Extra Large – A massive size that significantly increases the toy’s overall volume.
  • XXL – The most extreme version in the lineup, designed for advanced users where firmness becomes just as important as size.

As always with Weredog, each size comes with its own detailed measurement chart on the product page, making it easy to evaluate the toy’s actual dimensions before ordering.

Three Firmness Levels

Scout is available in three silicone firmness options:

  • Extra Soft (~Shore 0020),
  • Soft (~Shore 0030),
  • and Medium (~Shore 0050).

Extra Soft is the most flexible option. Its high level of softness significantly reduces rigidity, making larger sizes more forgiving and comfortable to handle.

Soft offers an excellent balance between flexibility and support. It is generally the best compromise between comfort and stability.

Medium is the firmest option. The toy retains its shape much better, increasing the sense of fullness and stretching during use.

As with Weredog’s other XXL models, firmness has a major impact on how the toy behaves. On the largest sizes, this choice becomes almost as important as the dimensions themselves.

Colorways Inspired by Scout’s Universe

Where Scout truly stands out is through its selection of unique colorways, several of which directly reflect the appearance of the character that inspired the toy.

  • Signature recreates Scout’s iconic appearance with a translucent metallic blue shaft paired with a marbled dark steel and deep red base.
  • Forged, the colorway featured in this review, showcases a striking gradient that transitions from yellow to orange and finally cherry red before blending into a dark steel base. It is also UV-reactive, making it even more eye-catching.
  • Dune takes a more natural approach, combining an aged green shaft with a subtle golden shimmer and a light sand-colored base.
  • Pulse features a vibrant fade from hot pink into dark steel for a bold, modern appearance.
  • Moonlight, also available on several other Weredog models, recreates a deep blue star-filled night sky.
  • Sky returns with its pastel blue and pink gradient finished with a subtle lilac shimmer across the entire toy.

As with most Weredog models, you can also choose the Custom option to create a fully personalized colorway using different colors, marbling effects, or UV-reactive finishes.

Finally, Weredog regularly offers premade models that have already been cast and are ready to ship immediately. It’s a convenient option for anyone looking to avoid the production delays that can sometimes come with custom orders.

Scout’s Design & Construction

With Scout, Weredog moves away from Duster’s western-inspired aesthetic in favor of a design rooted in science fiction and mechanical engineering. The result is an exceptionally detailed toy that strikes an excellent balance between functional shapes, industrial elements, and an attractive overall silhouette.

The entire design feels remarkably cohesive, with every detail seemingly intended to reinforce the mechanical origins of the character that inspired the toy.

An Outstanding Mechanical Design

At first glance, Scout immediately stands out thanks to the sheer amount of detail sculpted across its surface. Rather than relying on organic textures or anatomical realism, Weredog embraces a distinctly industrial approach.

The head features a rounded shape with a small circular recess at the tip, accompanied by several engraved markings that instantly make it feel more like a machine component than a traditional biological form.

The shaft continues this mechanical theme with numerous armor-like panels separated by engraved lines. These divisions resemble assembled mechanical plating, while the grooves running underneath subtly echo the role veins would play on a more organic design.

All of these details create a remarkably rich visual appearance. Depending on the viewing angle, it’s easy to keep discovering new sculpted elements that might have gone unnoticed at first.

The overall silhouette also contributes significantly to Scout’s appeal. Although it’s difficult to appreciate when the toy is lying flat, Scout features a natural curve that plays a major role in its profile. This gentle arc softens what could otherwise have been an overly rigid mechanical design, adding movement and making the overall shape feel more dynamic.

The lower portion of the shaft ends with three decorative rings. Beyond their visual appeal, they further reinforce the impression of mechanical assembly, as though different sections of the machine had been fitted together.

Aesthetic Inspired by Its Science-Fiction Universe

Scout works so well visually because Weredog has pushed its design consistency down to the smallest details.

The base is arguably the most impressive part of the entire sculpt. It features an abundance of carefully crafted mechanical elements, including the “Scout” engraving, exposed bolts, visible wiring, and an open section that looks as though a maintenance panel has been removed to reveal the machine’s internal components.

It immediately evokes the look of an opened service hatch or a robot undergoing repairs, directly reflecting the character’s backstory as an abandoned reconnaissance mech brought back to working condition after years of neglect.

Even without knowing the lore, the effect works extremely well. These various details give Scout a tremendous amount of personality and clearly separate it from a generic futuristic dildo.

The Forged colorway used for this review also contributes heavily to that identity. Its gradient from bright yellow to deep red naturally resembles glowing hot steel fresh from a forge. Combined with the extensive mechanical sculpting, it genuinely looks like a machine straight out of an industrial workshop.

Overall, Scout is probably one of the most intricately detailed designs I’ve seen from Weredog so far. Without ever feeling excessive, it packs in countless meaningful visual elements while maintaining excellent readability. The result is a toy with a strong identity that’s simply a pleasure to look at.

Performance & Experience

Unlike Gideon or Duster, Scout doesn’t try to impress through sheer size. Even in XXL, it feels noticeably less imposing than Weredog’s other large models.

That impression is reinforced by its particularly oversized base. Once you exclude the base from the usable dimensions, the toy ends up feeling fairly modest for something carrying the XXL label.

Fortunately, the overall experience is about far more than a few measurements on a specification sheet.

More Effective Than Its Dimensions Suggest

From the very first use, Scout proves to be far more interesting than its relatively modest proportions might suggest.

Insertion starts gently thanks to its rounded head, which never feels particularly aggressive. The diameter then increases progressively after the tip, but without any abrupt transitions or intimidating jumps in size.

The toy’s greatest strength lies in its overall geometry. The slight curve of the shaft naturally applies pressure exactly where it’s needed, while the numerous engraved panels and mechanical lines create consistent stimulation throughout each stroke.

I found Scout particularly enjoyable during slow, controlled movements. In this context, the mechanical details become much more noticeable, producing continuous stimulation without ever feeling harsh or fatiguing over longer sessions.

Although Scout isn’t especially wide for an XXL toy, it still offers enough usable length to reach deeper sensations when you want to take full advantage of its design. The result is a remarkably balanced experience: rather than relying on maximum diameter, Scout focuses on shape, curvature, and refined geometry.

This approach also makes it more approachable than some of Weredog’s other XXL models while still offering enough size to satisfy users already familiar with large toys.

Ergonomics That Show a Few Weaknesses

Where Scout is slightly less convincing is in a few practical aspects of its overall ergonomics.

The suction cup base performs exactly as expected during floor play. Once attached to a suitable surface, it stays firmly in place and provides excellent stability.

However, its dimensions quickly become a drawback when handling the toy manually. The base is particularly wide, and the Soft silicone used for my review sample remains flexible enough that the toy can occasionally feel lacking in rigidity during use.

It also suffers from an issue I previously noticed with Gideon. Because the shaft is wider at the top than where it meets the base, the center of gravity naturally shifts forward. As a result, Scout cannot stand upright on its own and quickly collapses under its own weight.

I imagine the effect would be even more pronounced in Extra Soft, while the Medium firmness would probably reduce the problem without eliminating it entirely.

Overall, Scout leaves me with mixed feelings. Visually, it’s probably one of Weredog’s most successful designs to date. The mechanical detailing is excellent, the Forged colorway suits the sculpt perfectly, and the sensations are genuinely enjoyable despite the toy’s relatively modest dimensions.

Its ergonomics, however, aren’t always ideal, and I have to admit I was a little surprised by its size. After testing Gideon and then Duster, I had come to associate Weredog’s XXL label with a genuine physical challenge. Scout takes a much more restrained approach and never quite delivers that same sense of tackling something truly intimidating.

For that reason, Scout isn’t a personal favorite. Instead, it’s a well-balanced toy that prioritizes design, enjoyable sensations, and accessibility over the pursuit of extreme dimensions.

Usage Tips & Care

Although Scout is noticeably less intimidating than some of Weredog’s other XXL toys, it remains a large model that benefits from a bit of preparation to fully appreciate what it has to offer.

Its gradual design makes it more approachable than Gideon or Duster, but taking a few simple precautions will still result in a more comfortable and enjoyable experience.

A Toy That Rewards Slow, Controlled Movements

Scout’s insertion is straightforward thanks to its rounded head and smooth diameter progression. Unlike toys built around massive knots or abrupt changes in girth, everything here feels much more natural from the very beginning.

As always, using a water-based lubricant is essential to protect the silicone while improving overall comfort during use.

The toy’s curve also plays an important role in the sensations it delivers. Personally, I achieved the best results with slow, controlled movements, allowing me to fully appreciate both the sculpted mechanical details and the pressure created by the toy’s natural curve.

The engraved mechanical panels and recessed lines become much more noticeable in this context than they do during faster thrusting. Scout isn’t necessarily a toy that impresses through sheer size, but rather one that gradually reveals its strengths when you take the time to explore its design.

As for firmness, my Soft version struck an excellent balance between flexibility and support. Users looking for a firmer experience may prefer the Medium version, while Extra Soft should prioritize comfort at the expense of some overall precision.

A Practical Base, but More Demanding Maintenance

The large suction cup base provides excellent stability on suitable surfaces. Once secured, it stays firmly in place and makes certain positions much easier than they would be when holding the toy by hand.

That same base, however, also becomes more cumbersome during manual use. Its large diameter, combined with the flexibility of the silicone, can make some movements feel less natural than they would with a more compact toy.

When it comes to maintenance, Scout also requires a bit more attention than average.

While smoother toys can be cleaned in just a few moments, Scout’s base is packed with mechanical details, cavities, raised elements, and small sculpted features. These are a major part of the toy’s visual appeal, but they also create plenty of places where water or residue can remain trapped after cleaning.

A thorough rinse followed by careful drying is therefore recommended, especially around the exposed cables, bolts, and textured sections of the base. It’s not a major issue, but cleaning Scout clearly takes a little more time than most other Weredog models.

As with previous Weredog orders, the toy comes with a practical cotton storage bag to protect the silicone between uses.

My Verdict on Scout

Scout is probably one of the most original models I’ve tested from Weredog. Its mechanical aesthetic is exceptionally well executed, and the sheer amount of sculpted detail makes it instantly recognizable. Between the engraved panels, industrial base elements, and the Forged colorway inspired by red-hot steel, the toy has a truly distinctive personality.

Unlike Gideon or Duster, however, Scout doesn’t try to impress through sheer size.

Even in XXL, it remains relatively modest compared to the brand’s other large models. That may disappoint users looking for truly enormous toys, but it also results in a more approachable and well-balanced experience.

What impressed me the most were the sensations. The combination of the curved shaft, mechanical detailing, and smooth diameter progression works remarkably well. Slow movements really highlight the sculpt, allowing you to appreciate the different textures without ever becoming overly aggressive or uncomfortable.

That said, Scout isn’t without its flaws.

Ergonomics are, in my opinion, its biggest weakness. The base looks fantastic, but its large size makes the toy less practical to handle. Like Gideon, Scout also struggles to stand upright on its own, a problem made worse by the flexible silicone and its weight distribution.

Cleaning also takes a little more effort than with most other Weredog toys. The intricate mechanical details that make Scout so visually appealing also create several areas where water and residue can easily become trapped.

In the end, Scout isn’t my favorite model from the brand. After reviewing Gideon and Duster, I expected Weredog’s XXL label to deliver something more ambitious in terms of sheer size, and on that front I was left wanting a little more.

That said, if you set aside the question of dimensions, Scout remains an excellent toy. It features one of the strongest designs in Weredog’s lineup, delivers genuinely enjoyable sensations, and benefits from an impressively cohesive visual identity. I’d primarily recommend it to anyone looking for a thoughtfully designed futuristic dildo rather than a true physical challenge.

Where to Buy Scout

The official Weredog website offers Scout in multiple sizes, with a choice of three silicone firmness levels (Extra Soft, Soft, and Medium) along with several colorways inspired by the character’s universe.

The standard options include Signature, which recreates the mech’s iconic appearance, Forged with its glowing hot-metal gradient, Dune and its sandy tones, Pulse with its bold pink-to-steel fade, as well as Moonlight and Sky, two colorways shared with several other Weredog models.

For this review, I chose the Forged version. Its yellow, orange, and deep red gradient paired with the dark steel base perfectly complements the toy’s industrial aesthetic.

As with most Weredog products, you can also choose the Custom option to create a completely personalized colorway using different color combinations, marbling effects, or UV-reactive finishes.

If you’d rather avoid potentially long production times, the Premade section also offers already-cast models that are ready to ship immediately. It’s a particularly convenient option when certain designs become highly popular within the community.

As for retailers, Gaymegastore also carries a selection of Weredog products in various sizes depending on the model. As is often the case, prices can sometimes be slightly higher than on the official store, even after taking potential import costs into account. It’s therefore worth comparing both options depending on your location and the configuration you’re looking for.
