Upon delivery, I discovered the new packaging that Weredog is currently rolling out.

Let’s be clear: this is the most polished packaging I’ve received for an artisanal sex toy. Each Gideon comes in a branded zip-lock bag, along with a care leaflet (usage, cleaning, lube), a cotton storage pouch, and two Weredog stickers.

The overall shape is smooth and well-balanced, ending with a massive knot preceded by a bulge that softens the transition. This choice makes the toy slightly more approachable despite its size. No frills here: every volume is made for function, with no decorative excess.

A full experience to tame

With its considerable length and hefty knot, Gideon XXL isn’t a toy you just pick up and use right away. It requires some technique, plenty of patience, and a good level of physical preparation.

The shape remains smooth, with no aggressive textures: no perceptible veins, no ridges or sharp details, which allows for controlled gliding. The entry is direct, and the sensations ramp up gradually until the dip before the knot — a preview of the full lock-in sensation to come.

Steady progression — but not without challenge

Gideon’s head is already quite wide: solid warm-up or a smaller toy at the start of the session is highly recommended. Once past this stage, the middle section performs very well, offering a balanced mix of diffuse pressure and inner friction.

But the real difficulty lies ahead. The knot is not only wide — it’s also followed by a thinner section that tends to fold or twist under pressure. In my case, I remain stuck just before the knot, due to an internal bend I can’t quite pass — it’s a mix of anatomy, muscle tension, and training. It’ll take time to go further, but that challenge is also part of the fun.

Three firmness levels, three experiences

Weredog offers three firmness levels for Gideon across all sizes: Extra Soft, Soft, and Medium. I had the chance to test all three on the XXL version.

Extra Soft: very flexible, but hard to control

This is the softest version — perhaps too soft for a toy of this size. Gideon’s body folds very easily, especially below the knot. When used on the floor without a suction cup (not included), the toy collapses under its own weight, making classic positions much harder to maintain. Once lubed, it’s difficult to guide by hand.
That said, it still offers a lovely wraparound sensation — soft and immersive. But at this size, a certain amount of structural support becomes almost essential.

Position becomes a key factor: lying on your back or side, comfortably settled, helps reduce physical strain — and lets you better enjoy the material’s softness. If you’re aiming for depth, you’ll need extra patience and should expect a more technical than fluid experience.

Soft & Medium: a better balance

The other two firmness levels provide much better stability. The toy stands upright (without collapsing), though it still retains some flexibility at the knot’s base.
