TL;DR

Gideon, one of Weredog’s flagship models, stands out with its long, straight shape topped by a rounded head and ending in a massive knot. Tested here in XXL size and in three firmness levels (Extra Soft, Soft, and Medium), it offers an intense stimulation that requires patience and commitment.

The design is minimalist: no pronounced textures, but a dip before the knot that creates a natural locking effect, with intensity that varies depending on the firmness. The silicone is soft, cleanly cast, and the packaging especially well done.

Beneath its simple look lies a dense experience: every centimeter counts, every transition is felt, and the knot seals it all with authority. An impressive model, best approached gradually, but one that could quickly become a favorite for those seeking size, pressure, and a real challenge.

Where to buy Gideon

A first contact that led further than expected

Before diving into the Gideon XXL, let’s rewind to my first interaction with Weredog — a brand I had the chance to interview a few months ago, as part of my series on independent makers.

From interview to comparative test

Weredog was the very first brand to accept an interview — a welcome show of trust at a time when this site was still in its early days. It was Roman, a member of the team, who replied at the time. At the end of our exchange, he hinted: “I might have something for you in a few months…” And a few months later, here we are.

Weredog offered me a chance to test the relaunch of Gideon the Fox, one of their signature models, now available in a new XXL size and exclusive colors. I first received the Extra Soft (40%) version, with the goal of writing a detailed review.

Right from the unboxing, I noticed that the chosen firmness (Extra Soft), combined with the toy’s structure, raised some questions about stability and practical use. Feeling like an involuntary but willing beta tester, I decided to send them a quick and constructive feedback, hoping my comments could help before the official release.

Weredog’s reply was everything I could hope for: open, receptive, and proactive. Without me even asking, they offered to send me the two other available versions (Soft and Medium), so I could compare all three firmnesses under equal conditions. A generous move — and one that speaks volumes about their approach.

Flawless packaging

Upon delivery, I discovered the new packaging that Weredog is currently rolling out.

Let’s be clear: this is the most polished packaging I’ve received for an artisanal sex toy. Each Gideon comes in a branded zip-lock bag, along with a care leaflet (usage, cleaning, lube), a cotton storage pouch, and two Weredog stickers.

It’s tidy, coherent, and practical — you can tell real attention went into the details. A clear benchmark in what “unboxing” can mean in the world of XXL dildos.

And as a bonus, shipping was lightning fast: the first package arrived in three days (one day late), and the second showed up within 24 hours, via DHL Express. An impressive level of service for an international shipment (UK → France).

A carefully crafted model, from mini to XXL

Available in six sizes, three silicone densities, and a wide range of color finishes, Gideon adapts to a variety of uses and experience levels.

A full range for all profiles

Offered in six sizes — Mini, Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, and XXL — Gideon provides a steady intensity progression while maintaining a consistent structure centered around its distinctive knot, which defines the toy’s identity.

This selection allows everyone to find the size that fits them without compromising on design or build quality. From the compact Mini to the imposing XXL, each size is designed to be usable, depending on one’s level of experience and goals.

  • Mini – Compact yet functional, a great option to discover the model in a more approachable size than the shape might suggest.
  • Small – A gentle introduction, already featuring the character of the knot without making it intimidating.
  • Medium – A balanced size, with a noticeable sensation during progression and knot entry.
  • Large – Starts to demand real effort for insertion, with a clearly pronounced knot.
  • Extra Large – A demanding size, best suited for advanced users.
  • XXL – The extreme version, where firmness becomes a key factor for usability.

Each version includes a detailed size chart on the product page — helpful for anticipating grip and accommodation capacity.

Three firmness levels to choose from

Gideon comes in three densities: Extra Soft (~Shore 0020), Soft (~Shore 0030), and Medium (~Shore 0050).

  • Extra Soft is the most flexible. Very pliable, it conforms easily to the body and smooths out the toy’s texture.
  • Soft offers a bit more support while remaining comfortable. It reduces the “flop” effect on long toys without making them rigid.
  • Medium is the firmest. It increases stability, enhances the stretching sensation, and gives more “control” during insertion.

Each option affects how the toy behaves — especially in larger sizes. I’ll dive deeper into these differences later in the article.

Two signature colors, or full customisation

Gideon XXL is available in two “signature” color schemes designed for its relaunch:

  • Signature: a vivid gradient from pink to purple, with a brown base.
  • Sugarplum: a glittery fade from creamy white to dark purple.

The model featured here comes in the Signature version.

For those looking for more variety, the Custom option allows for a tailored design, combining different application styles (solid, split, or marbled) and a wide range of shades — including some UV-reactive colors.

Weredog also regularly releases premade toys: already-molded models available for immediate shipping. A great option for those who want to skip the production wait or fall in love with a one-off colorway.

A clean design, made for function

No flashy textures, no cryptic aesthetics — Gideon opts for a straightforward shape, with a few subtle but well-crafted details. A design that favors efficiency without losing its character.

A sleek, structured design with no overload

Gideon is built around a stylized anatomical shape, both clear and minimal. The glans, gently tapered yet rounded, leads into a smooth shaft without aggressive textures. A single vein runs from the head to the knot: visible to the eye, but barely felt to the touch.

The overall shape is smooth and well-balanced, ending with a massive knot preceded by a bulge that softens the transition. This choice makes the toy slightly more approachable despite its size. No frills here: every volume is made for function, with no decorative excess.

A familiar silhouette with subtle nods

The underside of the toy features two sculpted parallel lines, visually reminiscent of the perineal raphe in human anatomy. You can also spot them on the upper side, reinforcing the idea of a design that’s inspired without imitating real morphology.

The tapered brown base clearly stands out, likely referencing the fox’s fur — a nod to Gideon’s namesake character. The pink-to-purple fade, glossy and seamless, completes the look with a refined yet expressive finish. There’s no branding or logo under the base — a welcome touch of discretion.

A full experience to tame

With its considerable length and hefty knot, Gideon XXL isn’t a toy you just pick up and use right away. It requires some technique, plenty of patience, and a good level of physical preparation.

The shape remains smooth, with no aggressive textures: no perceptible veins, no ridges or sharp details, which allows for controlled gliding. The entry is direct, and the sensations ramp up gradually until the dip before the knot — a preview of the full lock-in sensation to come.

Steady progression — but not without challenge

Gideon’s head is already quite wide: solid warm-up or a smaller toy at the start of the session is highly recommended. Once past this stage, the middle section performs very well, offering a balanced mix of diffuse pressure and inner friction.

But the real difficulty lies ahead. The knot is not only wide — it’s also followed by a thinner section that tends to fold or twist under pressure. In my case, I remain stuck just before the knot, due to an internal bend I can’t quite pass — it’s a mix of anatomy, muscle tension, and training. It’ll take time to go further, but that challenge is also part of the fun.

Three firmness levels, three experiences

Weredog offers three firmness levels for Gideon across all sizes: Extra Soft, Soft, and Medium. I had the chance to test all three on the XXL version.

Extra Soft: very flexible, but hard to control

This is the softest version — perhaps too soft for a toy of this size. Gideon’s body folds very easily, especially below the knot. When used on the floor without a suction cup (not included), the toy collapses under its own weight, making classic positions much harder to maintain. Once lubed, it’s difficult to guide by hand.
That said, it still offers a lovely wraparound sensation — soft and immersive. But at this size, a certain amount of structural support becomes almost essential.

Position becomes a key factor: lying on your back or side, comfortably settled, helps reduce physical strain — and lets you better enjoy the material’s softness. If you’re aiming for depth, you’ll need extra patience and should expect a more technical than fluid experience.

Soft & Medium: a better balance

The other two firmness levels provide much better stability. The toy stands upright (without collapsing), though it still retains some flexibility at the knot’s base. Soft feels very pleasant — comfortable, with smooth gliding, but not too floppy. Medium adds more internal pressure and firmness: perfect if you want to feel the toy’s full weight and volume with each movement.

Personally, I’d go with Soft or Medium, depending on whether you prefer comfort or intensity. Extra Soft isn’t a mistake per se, but it does make use significantly harder — especially without a suction cup — and is better suited for experienced users who are confident with large toys.

A toy that requires method and foresight

With its imposing size and shape, Gideon XXL demands the right conditions to deliver the best experience: warm-up, lube, position… all of these directly affect the outcome. As with any large toy, cleaning and storage also require more attention than with a standard-sized dildo.

Lube, rhythm, firmness: finding the right balance

The knot is clearly the model’s centerpiece. Even in Extra Soft, it requires a significant stretch, made trickier by the narrow and flexible section below, which tends to bend. To pass it comfortably, good warm-up is highly recommended — either with a smaller toy or step-by-step buildup. It really makes a difference.

Firmness choice also plays a major role in ease of use: softer = more comfortable but also more “flop” to manage. Firmer = more stable but more intense. You’ll need to adjust depending on your play style, position, and preferences.

As for lube, stick with the basics: water-based, and lots of it, especially on the knot, to prevent it from bending or catching at the entrance.

Cleaning and storage: no issues

Gideon is easy to clean with warm water and mild soap. The details are shallow and minimal, which prevents buildup. A rinse right after use usually does the trick, but a soft brush can help around the meatus or along sculpted lines.

Each Gideon comes with a cotton storage pouch, which protects the silicone surface and makes storage worry-free, even among other toys. A thoughtful touch — no need to improvise your own solution.

Gideon XXL: streamlined design, striking intensity

Gideon follows a clear principle: no extra textures, no frills — just an anatomy designed for pressure and depth. The gently pointed glans leads the way, the flexible shaft guides progression, and the final knot stands as the ultimate challenge: massive and intense.

In XXL, the whole toy requires commitment: preparation, relaxation, and likely several sessions to unlock its full potential. But every step forward brings a surge in intensity — a continuous, full-body sensation that leaves a lasting mark.

A toy that won’t yield in one go — but one I’ve set my sights on. The knot remains out of reach for now, but the urge to come back to it is strong.

Where to buy Gideon?

The official Weredog website lets you order Gideon in six sizes, with a choice of three silicone firmness levels (Extra Soft, Soft, Medium) and various color options. Two default signature finishes are available — “Signature” (a rose-violet fade with brown base) and “Sugarplum” (pink and gold) — plus fully custom finishes via the “Custom” option: solid, dual-tone, marbled, with or without glitter.

For the impatient, the Premade section offers already-molded toys, ready to ship in a variety of size, firmness, and color combos. A great way to skip the production delay.

As for resellers, Gaymegastore carries a wide range of Weredog models — nearly a hundred references across variants. At the time of writing, the new Gideon version isn’t listed yet, and XXL sizes don’t seem to be available. Prices also tend to be higher than on the official shop, even when factoring in customs fees. It’s worth comparing options depending on the model and where you live.
