After speaking with Weredog, Erotixxx Toys, and Magic Within Curio, I wanted to give a voice to Fera Daemon — a French brand that has carved out a distinctive space in the world of fantasy sex toys. As always, the goal remains the same: to explore the craft behind each piece, the creative decisions, and the visions of pleasure that inspire them.
Born from a couple’s personal project, Fera Daemon stands out for its soft aesthetics, carefully sculpted hybrid forms, and a richly developed narrative universe where each model tells its own story. Every item is handcrafted with ongoing attention to safety, ethics, and artistic coherence.
In this interview, the duo shares the origins of their journey, the challenges of handmade production, their approach to design… and the importance of dreaming a little.
Fera Daemon: where craftsmanship meets aesthetics and imagination
Based in France, Fera Daemon was founded by a passionate couple who turned sex toy creation into an artistic and ethical expression. Far from industrial standards, they design elegant, body-safe pieces that are deeply rooted in a fantasy world of their own making.
Since their launch in 2020, every toy has been handcrafted in their workshop, with meticulous attention to materials, detailing, and visual coherence. Each model is customizable and conceived as an artifact from a dreamlike universe — where pleasure is closely tied to imagination.
A brand with a bold and distinctive identity
- A strong narrative world: Each model fits into a coherent fantasy setting — with magical crystals, elegant tentacles, and hybrid forms inspired by mythical creatures.
- Fully handcrafted production: From design to shipping, everything is done in-house to maintain full control over quality, materials, and customization options.
- An inclusive approach: No gender labels, no rigid norms — just forms that speak to all bodies and desires.
- A firm ethical stance: Full transparency on materials, no compromises on safety, and 100% local production.
Through this approach, Fera Daemon reimagines what a sex toy can be: not just a pleasure object, but a fragment of a world — a piece of art in its own right. Here is their story.
A handcrafted project turned ethical mission
Behind Fera Daemon is a couple, a desire to create together, and a very personal vision of pleasure and the objects that shape it. Their approach blends a singular aesthetic, strong values, and a clear will to go beyond conventional norms — to offer something different, in a different way.
From playful experiment to professional adventure
Fera Daemon didn’t begin as a brand, but as a personal creative project, born from the joy of creating together, experimenting with forms, colors, and materials. “It started as a creative couple’s hobby — we first learned how to make fantasy dildos just for fun between us.”
The Covid lockdown gave them time to deepen their craft, until the idea of selling their creations felt natural. In 2020, they launched a crowdfunding campaign on Ulule, which far exceeded their expectations. “That’s when we both quit our jobs to dedicate ourselves full-time to Fera Daemon!”
This successful launch became a turning point, proving that an audience was clearly there. “We never expected Fera Daemon to resonate with people this much. […] It gave us a lot of confidence and encouraged us to keep going.”
A free, inclusive and dreamlike vision of sexuality
Fera Daemon embraces an inclusive and creative approach to sexuality, far from gender stereotypes or mainstream aesthetic standards. Their goal: to create pleasure objects that also speak to the imagination, allowing everyone to see themselves reflected in the product — without being assigned a role. “We also avoid designing gendered models like ‘sex toys for men’ or ‘sex toys for women’ or linking them to sexual orientation. We do our best to ensure that everyone can freely choose the toy that suits them best based on their own criteria.”
Through their creations, the duo defends a vision of sexuality where diversity can fully blossom. “We try to promote a sexuality in which diversity is free to flourish, and we encourage the exploration of alternative erotic imaginations.”
Their style draws from a soft and dreamlike fantasy universe, populated by evocative hybrid forms. “Unicorn horns, tentacles, magical crystals…” Fera Daemon moves away from the more graphic or “monstrous” codes of fantasy dildos, preferring a more elegant, mysterious, and broadly warm aesthetic.
Create different sex toys: between craft, ethics and fantasy
For Fera Daemon, a sex toy is not just a product: it is a handcrafted creation designed to free the imagination and respect the body. Every step — from design to shipping — is done in-house, with close attention to shapes, materials, and customization.
Their approach blends creativity, technical precision, and ethical commitment, to offer toys that are not only safe and beautiful, but also emotionally resonant.
100% in-house production, from design to delivery
At Fera Daemon, everything is imagined and crafted in-house — from the first sketches to order fulfillment. A deliberate choice that goes against traditional industrial models in the sex toy world.
Outsourcing has never been an option: “We’re not fond of the fantasy dildo designs that can be bought from factories, and we’re not comfortable selling products whose composition we don’t truly know.”
By producing everything themselves in France, they ensure the quality of materials and offer a high level of customization for each order — adjusting shape, size, firmness, color, or even base style.
But this freedom comes at a cost: local production entails high expenses and requires mastery of many different skills. From 3D modeling to printing the prototypes, from mold creation to working with silicone, each step is interdependent. It’s a delicate balance that makes outsourcing almost impossible.
“3D modeling has to consider the constraints of printing and mold-making, for example. And since toys are made progressively each day in our studio, it’s not practical to outsource logistics to an external warehouse.”
Their craft-based approach is not just a marketing pitch: it lies at the heart of their project and shapes both their thinking and their production methods.
Clear, committed material choices
In a field where material quality is often vague, Fera Daemon opts for transparency and reliability.
“We always use the same raw materials — proven and trusted ones in the world of sex toy manufacturing.”
Their preference goes to platinum-cured silicone, known for its biocompatibility and safe use in medical-grade applications.
Their philosophy is cautious: rather than experimenting with untested innovations, they choose to stay grounded in what’s solid and trusted.
“We’re not experts in silicone chemistry or the biocompatibility risks involved, so we prefer not to venture off the beaten path. Instead, we focus on what’s proven and reliable.”
This vigilance around materials is not a minor point — it’s tied directly to their ethical commitment and their goal to offer creations that are as safe as they are durable.
A narrative universe as creative backbone
At Fera Daemon, each sex toy is part of a carefully constructed imaginary world. The brand’s lore is more than an aesthetic addition — it actively guides their artistic direction and fuels their entire creative process.
“The lore gives artistic direction to the development of new models: it’s a dreamlike fantasy world with a soft aesthetic and a mysterious atmosphere that invites exploration.”
This universe is purposefully distinct from the darker or more aggressive approaches found in parts of the fantasy market.
“It’s not a ‘monstrous’ or ‘gory’ world, unlike what some other brands offer.”
Here, the shapes evoke magical crystals, elegant tentacles, and horns of fantastical creatures — emphasizing their desire to create objects that are as much invitations to the imagination as they are tools for pleasure.
Each model receives its own story within this world.
“When we create a new model, we give it a backstory inside that universe.”
This attention to storytelling gives the toys added personality, making them “a bit more than just pleasure tools”. Some customers even use the toys as decorative pieces, a sign of the emotional connection this world can inspire.
While they would love to deepen the lore further, Fera Daemon has to balance that with the realities of their day-to-day work as independent artisans.
“We’d love to expand the lore — more to enrich it than to write a full storyline — but it’s very time-consuming and our time is already filled with producing the toys!”
Running an independent brand: between craftsmanship, balance and ambition
Fera Daemon moves at its own pace, with a craft-oriented vision and the will to keep control over every step of the process. They reject industrial models, prioritize local production, and pay attention to every detail — all to preserve the integrity of their project, even if it means growing slowly. But behind that steady approach lies a desire for evolution and new ideas — without ever compromising their values.
Regulating to protect: the question of materials and safety standards
In the world of sex toys, production is still largely outside the scope of real health regulations. This legal grey zone allows questionable materials to circulate, and Fera Daemon chooses to take a clear stance against it.
“Unlike other industries like cosmetics, sex toy manufacturing isn’t regulated, even though these products are often meant for internal use.”
Fully aware of the risks associated with materials like phthalates, Fera Daemon’s founders rely on silicone tested for medical applications and avoid uncertain experimentation:
“We use silicones that have passed tests for medical use and are already trusted in sex toy production.”
In their view, stricter regulation — especially concerning the materials used — would not only be welcome but beneficial to the entire sector:
“A bit more regulation around phthalates would actually be beneficial to the industry.”
Their technically cautious approach is no accident: it’s rooted in a desire to respect users and build a sustainable brand without compromise.
Public support that changed everything
When they launched their first Ulule campaign in 2020, Fera Daemon’s founders had no guarantee the project would succeed. They believed in it but were clear-eyed about the risks. The campaign’s success — with over 30 times their initial goal reached — exceeded all expectations.
“Before launching on Ulule, we weren’t sure at all the project would be viable — and we certainly didn’t think we’d be able to make a living from it right away.”
This wave of support didn’t just finance their beginnings — it transformed their perspective. It gave them the legitimacy and confidence to quit their jobs and devote themselves fully to Fera Daemon.
“It gave us a lot of confidence and encouraged us to keep going in this direction.”
This direct relationship with the public, without intermediaries, remains a core part of their commitment to independence and authenticity.
Growing without losing the project’s soul
Like many small artisan brands, Fera Daemon grows slowly, with a conscious decision not to rush. Since 2020, only a few new models have been released — and that’s no accident. “We’ve mostly focused on improving the ones that already existed,” the creators explain. This less visible choice reflects their commitment to quality and a desire to refine every detail before expanding the range.
This doesn’t mean they lack the desire to create new things — quite the opposite. “We’d love to offer more variety in the future. It should be coming soon :)” they say. But development depends on the human limits of their studio, the autonomy of their artisanal model, and their will to maintain balance between creativity, quality, and workload.
Exploring sexuality with creativity and curiosity
At Fera Daemon, a sex toy isn’t just a functional object — it’s an extension of the body, but also of the imagination. A way to invent one’s own stories, to play with shapes and sensations, and to connect with oneself. “More than just physical stimulation, they spark a whole world of imagination and speak to fantasies.”
The duo encourages everyone to move beyond imposed norms and embrace their sexuality in a free and personal way. “I encourage everyone to explore their sexuality with creativity and curiosity — whether with our designs or those from other brands featured on Big Good Dildos.”
Through their hybrid shapes and vibrant colors, they promote a vision of pleasure rooted in respect, self-awareness, and exploration. No guilt, no pressure — just the freedom to have fun, try things out, and feel.
Creativity, precision, independence: the Fera Daemon signature
Fera Daemon has carved out a unique place by choosing to blend craftsmanship, fantasy, and ethical values. At every stage, their work reflects the same goal: to uphold quality, honor imagination, and deliver authentic creations far from industrial standards.
Their strength doesn’t lie in frequent releases or hype — but in creative patience, loyalty to their world, and artisanal mastery that shows in every piece.
In a market driven by constant innovation, Fera Daemon chooses to move with coherence and honesty, staying true to their original vision: to create sex toys that celebrate the diversity of bodies and fantasies, without compromise.
